Rock bottom (debt + credit score)

There's really no better place to begin than rock bottom.

I'd actually say that this isn't rock bottom. I've been deeper in debt than this before in my lifetime. I had a default/CCJ in my early 20s, and I've twice completed debt management plans with the (excellent) charity Stepchange.

But I really really really want to clear my debt and keep it cleared once and for all. I want to make a solid plan and execute it. A big part of that is awareness and facing up to the journey ahead of me. You can see my goals and priorities on the about page of this blog for more on all that.

So, time to look at the debt total, deep breath....

This graphic, by the way, is from https://undebt.it/, a tool with a solid free option that I highly recommend.

I've chosen a snowball method here, i.e. clearing the smallest debts first. Choosing the avalanche method (tackling highest interest rates first) would have cleared the debt one month and a few £10s sooner. However, I watched a few videos about the two methods and agreed that clearing them from my credit report sooner would be the best option.

Speaking of, I suppose I should log for posterity my current credit score health, according to my banking app (which has a handy way for me to track my credit rating):

Let's hope it's onwards and ever upwards from here.
